Mollicia amblypostha (Müller, G.W., 1906) Records: 59
Members of this genus are typically bathypelagic/abyssopelagic. At present only the males can reliably be distinguished, and detailed comparative studies are needed to learn how to distinguish the females using characteristics of limbs other than the first and second antennae. Each major central gyre may have its own endemic species. This particular species has a circumpolar distribution and is replaced by other species in the subtropical gyres.
